Creating child-friendly spaces in a hotel is essential to enhancing the guest experience and attracting families. Here's a step-by-step guide to creating successful children's areas in your hotel, inspired by the solutions offered by Welcome Family. There are 4 main areas to create!
Reception
Objective - Make a positive first impression.
Play corner: Beyond the playroom, you can set up a small corner with toys, books and colouring books coloring pages. This will give the children something to look forward to, either before departure or on arrival, while parents check-in. There's no need to bring the playroom with you pocket toys and coloring kits will do the trick.
Adapted furniture: Use chairs and tables at child height.
Welcome gifts: Offer surprise bags containing small toys or coloring kits. A coloring bag containing several surprises to accompany children during their stay in your hotel will be well received!
The Games Room
Objective - To provide a safe and fun place to play.
Varied games: Offer a variety of games, including wooden games, soft toys plushand board games and giant games. An area dedicated to children. Request a kids corner!
Themed decoration: Use coloring posters and decorations suitable for children. Think themes like the jungle, the sea or pirates. The hunt and Seek posters posters are the stars of these areas
Safety: Make sure all toys and equipment comply with current safety standards. The aim is to make this a "safe" space for families, where even parents won't be afraid to leave their children's toys. Note that the room and toys must be cleaned regularly to limit the spread of germs.
The rooms
Objective - Ensure children's comfort and safety.
Suitable beds: Provide cots or cots for the little ones. This space-saving equipment is easy to fold and store! It's a good idea to highlight this equipment option on your website to alert families.
